Net zero and the future of industrial energy demand

Webinar: Wednesday 24 May- 2:00 to 3:00pm

Part of  The Role of Demand Management series.

This webinar will explore the challenges and opportunities for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the industrial sector, which accounts for about a quarter of global energy use and CO2 emissions. Our speakers, Prakash Sharma (Wood Mackenzie) and Ahmed Gailani (University of Leeds) will share their insights on the current trends and scenarios for the transition to net zero emissions in industry, with a focus on the European and UK contexts.

The discussion will include topics such as energy and resource efficiency, electrification and the role of new technologies such as hydrogen and carbon capture in transforming the industrial sector.

The webinar will be chaired by Arjan Geveke, Director of the Energy Intensive Users Group.
