Delivering Reformed National Pricing – Aligning Investment, Infrastructure and Innovation

BIEE Webinar: Delivering Reformed National Pricing – Aligning Investment, Infrastructure and Innovation

10:00-11:00 | Thursday 20 November 2025 | Online

Earlier this summer, Government announced its decision to retain a single national GB-wide wholesale electricity market and implement an ambitious package of reforms under the Reformed National Pricing (RNP) model aimed at improving the efficiency of our future power system. This webinar will unpack how the RNP plan aims to address the critical misalignment between energy generation and transmission capacity, reduce network constraint costs, and provide clearer investment signals.

Key questions we’ll explore include:

  • How will reformed national pricing improve the siting of new generation and storage assets?
  • What role will the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan (SSEP) play in shaping future infrastructure?
  • How will reforms to network charging and planning processes support investor certainty and consumer fairness?
  • What are the implications for the upcoming CfD allocation round and long-term market stability?

Whether you’re an investor, developer, policymaker, or system planner, this is your opportunity to engage with the future of Britain’s electricity market.

Our speakers include:

  • Dan Osgood – Director, Electricity Security & Market Reform (ESMR), Department for Energy Security & Net Zero
  • Michael Joos – Senior Associate, Aurora Energy Research

Chair:

  • Selcan Kayihan – Director, EY
