The BIEE’s Energy seminar series aims to promote discussion of broader issues of energy policy, cutting across sectoral concerns, in an independent and non-partisan environment. The  seminars, which are scheduled for February, April, June and November feature speaker presentations as well as an opportunity for audience members to participate in extended Q&A and contribute to the discussion. These have been held as webinars since April 2020.

The theme for  the 2021 series is ‘Turn of the Decade’ addressing some of the key challenges for the next 10 years.

In March Vivienne Geard and Dr Danial Sturge gave talks on  Carbon Trading and the new UK ETS, in April Martin Haigh and Alex Waterhouse presented global and local scenarios for net zero, and in June Ingrid Holmes and Bruce Jenkyn Jones discussed investment and growth prospects for renewable energy. Recordings of these webinars are available in the Video resources section of the website

The final seminar (or webinar)  for 2021 will focus on energy behaviour. Date and speakers to be confirmed.
