Introduction

The BIEE’s second ” Future of Energy” lecture was  given by Dieter Helm CBE, Professor of Energy Policy, University of Oxford, on May 11th 2015.

Energy Policy After the Election

British energy policy faces big challenges for EMR, for the capacity and feed in tariff auctions, the Green Deal and the demand side. The lecture  set out the options and propose major reforms.

 About the Speaker – Professor Dieter Helm

Dieter is an Official Fellow in Economics at New College, Oxford, Professor of Energy Policy at the University of Oxford and Professorial Research Fellow of the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. He is Chair of the Natural Capital Committee and a Director of Aurora Energy Research Ltd. The revised edition of his most recent book, The Carbon Crunch, is due to be published in June by Yale University Press.

 

 

 

 

Venue

The meeting was held in the Dining Room on the lower ground floor at the Royal Society. Registration will start outside the meeting room at 17.00 and tea will be available on arrival. The lecture including questions will take place from 17.30-18.30  and will be followed by a drinks reception.
